Cliff Spliff – Give Me a Break

As out of character as this is…..I just couldn’t stop myself this morning. A funny thing really – watching news on spanish TV. Regardless of most of the small talk generally all “melting together” – you get these funny little english outbursts of words and phrases that can’t be translated into spanish.

“Y en otras noticias.. .el Estados Unidos avanza hacia la FISCAL CLIFF……y los peligros de caída de la FISCAL CLIFF crean problemas significativos para la economía”. Its too funny.

Listen – If anyone reading here honestly thinks for a minute, that Obama and ol Uncle Ben – after pumping billions and billions and billions into markets over the past 4 years – are going to just quit/give up /get hung up on something as ridiculous as this – perhaps you’re sittin up in Colorado right now – kicking back and enjoying the new marijuana laws.

The big wheels of “easing” are now more than set in motion –  and nothing ..NOTHING can stop it now – NOTHING. This administration is in far to deep at this point…. to even “consider” slowing down – in fact… its much more likely things will even start to move faster – as the easing continues and continues.

Its bye bye dollar boys…….and the markets gonna fly.

I think you are starting to get a better handle on things Careydina – good for you. That is a good call.

Now…do you think the USD will rise long enough to put a trade on? Or will you wait until it rises to “short” it?

        Kong,

I’ve short gbp/usd since when the price at 1.6298 and etc… US budget announcement will be out after Christmas so now don’t think will reach 150 pips or above.. Perhaps I will wait for it. Hehe…
How do you think on it?

        • Pot Stock Watch December 21, 2012 / 6:54 am

I think it looks good – just be careful , as the pair can move vevry very quickly.

A good entry here for sure!

    Yeah, fair enough.
Any thoughts on gold & it’s cousin? You think it will breach 1523?

My line in the sand is pretty much right where it’s at – around 1648 ish.

In light of what’s already happened with the slide in prices gold wise there really doesnt seem to be much point speculating – short of just sitting it out. My March options will likely just be added to on a turn as I’m only in for around 1500.00 bucks. Whenever it bottoms -I’ll double down perhaps – then double down again, and even again if it looks good.

Again….the value of a staggered approach to buying allows for these kinds of things to happen without a lot of stress.

          Nice going Careydina!

It always feels great putting some profits away…and as you’ve suggested – the next few days will likely be pretty quiet.

Way to go! – and Merry Xmas!

          Careydina!

          Just an interesting little note.

1.6160 looks like a great place to take your profits (at this moment) on short GBP/USD, as I would consider going long here. As I’ve touched on before – depending on a traders time frame and entry/exit – both can be right!

          Good luck!

        Kong,

I’ve closed some positions but not all. At the same time, I also have some long positions too. I believe pounds may still strong. Again, US budget is out after Christmas so I believe it will make usd strong too. But also the fiscal cliff conclusion has not out yet so still a bit uncertain. It may ended up with plan C – NO deal hahaha…

What is your view on gbp/ usd?

        • Pot Stock Watch December 22, 2012 / 8:12 am

I don’t think for a minute that he U.S will allow for this fiscal cliff to re rail their “attempt at recovery” so…..I will still be positioning “short the dollar” and ” long risk “. I’ve gone long GBP/USD as of late Friday afternoon.

        Hi kong,

Yeah agreed! Well will close all my short positions by today. Hehehe…

I predict pounds will gain up to 1.6300 again. Let’s wait and see. At the same time I saw the gold vs usd is weak. Dropped so much already huh… do you trade on this pairing?

        • Pot Stock Watch December 24, 2012 / 11:07 am

I don’t trade gold vs USD as I am a true believer that gold is going up up up up up…..

I am playing thr move in gold through option purchases in the miners,,such as EXK, as well GDX and a small position in NUGT.

      Doji,

Can you point me in the direction of any popular trading / investment type forums and websites on your side of the globe? I’m looking into further marketing considerations – and would really like to find more readers in your neck of the woods?
